MONTREAL – Here’s a numerical look at Monday night’s game against the Minnesota Wild at the Bell Centre.
6 – The Canadiens began their sixth set of back-to-back games so far this season on Monday night. Prior to the tilt against the Minnesota Wild, Claude Julien’s contingent owned a 3-1-1 record in the first of those two consecutive games. The Habs will be back in action on Tuesday night agaisnt the Red Wings in Detroit.
43 – Number of penalty minutes distributed during the first period alone on Monday night. Forward Kenny Agostino received 20 minutes all by himself after being given a game misconduct. For their part, the Wild were given 23 penalty minutes during the opening frame.
3 – Number of consecutive saves Carey Price made on the sequence below. The Canadiens’ starter was solid in between the pipes during the opening 20 minutes of play, turning aside nine shots.
7:58 – Ice time logged by Shea Weber on Monday night before he was forced to leave the game due to injury. The Canadiens’ captain took a puck to the face during the first period. The nature of his injury, however, is still unknown.
4 – Number of shots blocked by defenseman Brett Kulak on Monday night, matching a career-high. In Weber’s absence, Kulak stepped up in the physicality department as well, dishing out four hits.
