The home team exploded with early third-period goals by Nikita Kucherov, on a power-play, and Yanni Gourde.

Tyler Johnson, who’d had a goal disallowed, made it 3-0 with 3:14 left.

The Canadiens had hung in for 40 scoreless minutes.

And Brett Kulak, of all people, opened the scoring 13 minutes into the second period. Except he didn’t.

Tampa Bay challenged for Jesperi Kotkaniemi being Offside on zone entry and got the goal nullified.

Shots were 36-20 for the best team in the NHL.
