Truncated ALN tonight, peeps, because the Ol’ Blogger is still not in game shape.
I’m watching L’Antichambre, where François Gagnon is raving about Jesperi Kotkaniemi.
Did you love the kid coming to Carey Price’s defence in overtime?
He’s going to be a helluva player.
And maybe this is going to be a pretty good Canadiens team.
But hot season start notwithstanding, it’s going to take a while.
The Canadiens didn’t play poorly at the Canadien Tire Centre.
The aforementioned Kotkaniemi played 15 solid minutes and was plus-1.
Mike Reilly continues to impress. We’re looking at Shea Weber’s future D partner.
Noah Juulsen was plus-2. If it’s Weber-Reilly, will we see Petry-Juulsen? Pretty good Top 4, eh?
Max Domi and Phillip Danault played solid games.
Brendan Gallagher was Brendan Gallagher.
Carey Price let in that weird Mikkel Boedker goal, but was otherwise solid … particularly during that crazy goalmouth scrum in the third period.
Joel Armia played perhaps his best game yet and picked up an assist.
Paul Byron had a goal and an assist … and might have had more with better head-man passing.
Now the critique portion:
Karl Alzner played 17 minutes, was minus-1 and – amazingly fora defenceman with decent size — did not record ONE SINGLE HIT!
Jonathan Drouin was invisible until OT.
Tomas Tatar was not up to his early season standards.
But neither was the Ol’ Blogger.
Peace out, peeps.
See ya Tuesday night.
